About ZuriFi
ZuriFi builds financial infrastructure for emerging markets — modular rails for payments, digital assets, asset digitization, trading and market access, purpose-built for banks, fintechs and brokers. Our rails are live: real users, real partners, and real money moving through the system every day.
The role
We're hiring our first Creative Designer, based in Kigali, to own how ZuriFi looks and feels everywhere it shows up — the product, the website, partner decks, social, and events. Financial infrastructure is usually invisible or ugly. Your job is to make ours clear, trustworthy, and unmistakably ours, and to build the system that keeps it that way as the team grows.
What you'll do
- Own the ZuriFi brand end to end — identity, type, colour, illustration, and the system that keeps them consistent across web, product, decks, and print.
- Design product UI alongside engineering: dashboards, onboarding flows, payout and settlement screens that make complex money movement feel obvious.
- Produce marketing and social creative — launch visuals, campaign assets, share cards, posters, and short video or motion pieces — fast and on-brand.
- Build partner-facing material: pitch decks, one-pagers, integration guides, and event collateral for banks, fintechs, and brokers.
- Set up and maintain the design system in Figma so the team can ship without waiting on you for every screen.
- Bring taste and opinion to the table — push back on what looks generic, and show us what a modern African financial brand should look like.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years designing for digital products or brands, with a portfolio that shows both visual craft and real shipped work.
- Strong across brand and product: you're as comfortable with a logo lockup and a campaign as you are with a data-dense dashboard.
- Fluent in Figma, and in at least one of Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, or an equivalent motion tool.
- You understand layout, hierarchy, and typography deeply, and can explain why a design works, not just that it does.
- Comfortable working directly with founders and engineers in a small team where feedback is quick and direct.
- Based in Kigali, or ready to relocate — this role is on-site with the team.
Nice to have
- Experience designing for fintech, payments, or digital assets — you know what trust looks like on a screen.
- Motion and video editing skills for social and product launches.
- Basic front-end literacy (HTML/CSS, Tailwind, or React) so you can prototype and hand off cleanly.
- Illustration or 3D skills that could give the brand a distinctive visual language.
What we offer
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity.
- Full ownership of the brand — you'll define it, not maintain someone else's guidelines.
- Work that ships: your designs go live in front of real users and partners the same week.
- Tools and budget for the software, hardware, and stock you need to do great work.
- Relocation support to Kigali if you're moving.
